The Sint-Martinuskerk is a church in the centre of the Belgian municipality of Avelgem. The neo-Gothic church is the parish church of the Sint-Martinus parish of Avelgem.
The oldest mentions of a church building date from the year 1269 or 1286. At that time, the building was located on the territory of the Lordship of Avelgem.
The first church was a Romanesque church with a square tower. In the year 1485, the church was destroyed by Ghent rebels. About a hundred years later, around 1580, during the Geuzen period, the church almost completely burned down.
