The church was built in 1725-1727 in the style of the Baroque by plans of the kennel master Pöppelmann. Baroque design is rare in this region.

He was the master builder Augustus the Strong and coined the famous Dresdner Baroque. In Lebusa 1727 a church was built according to the plans of the famous architect Pöppelmann. It was a foundation of Gerald Moritz Friedrich von Milkau and was built as a simple hall church - but with a fascinating to this day equipment. There are, among others, valuable Meissen tiles on two stoves in the interior. A true gem of baroque architecture. The Silbermann organ is known nationwide.
