Gothic field stone building with a tower in octagonal shape with baroque tower dome, the oldest building in the city.

The predecessor building of the church was built in the 13th century. After a fire in 1666, only a few foundations remained, on which the present church was begun in 1671 to build. In 1697-1698 the tower received its present form.

The first documented mention of Dahme dates back to 1186. There was certainly already a church here at that time. Components and foundation remains inside St. Mary's suggest that it was a single-nave Romanesque building from that period. The church as it appears to visitors today was essentially rebuilt in the Baroque style between 1666 and 1701.
