Hiking

Soos is a national nature reserve about 4.5 kilometers northeast of Františkovy Lázně in the Cheb district of the Karlovy Vary Region. The subject of protection is a set of forest ecosystems, fens, oligotrophic ponds and pools with the occurrence of rare and endangered species of plants and animals, including the Marsh Fritillary butterfly. Protected phenomena also include inanimate nature formations: mofettes (significant occurrence), mineral springs and diatomaceous earth layers.

Hiking

Soos is a national nature reserve declared in 1964. It consists of unique peat bogs and mineral fens covering an area of 221 ha in a shallow basin between the Vonšovský and Sooský streams. Springs of mineral water and carbon dioxide outlets in so-called mofettes are found here.
