Gruba Kaśka is a Warsaw water intake and municipal well building in the Vistula River bed, which pumps water from the system of sub-bottom drains to the Water Treatment Plant (SUW) "Praga" of the Central Plant located in Saska Kępa, belonging to the Municipal Water and Sewage Company (MPWiK). Excess water from Gruba Kaśka is directed across the river to the Water Treatment Plant (SUW) "Filtry" of the same plant.
It is the only facility in Europe located in the river, using the natural infiltration process.
