Fatima Chapel (Oberkirch-Tiergarten)

Very beautiful chapel up in the vineyards, with a fantastic view of Oberkirch and the Rhine plain.

The chapel is located in Oberkirch-Tiergarten above the vineyards and is a popular hiking destination for hikers. The chapel offers a great view over Oberkirch and down to the Rhine plain.

The Fatima Chapel was built in 1962 by the citizens of Oberkirch-Tiergarten between vines and chestnuts. During the renovation in 1997, the chapel received a bell tower and four new windows showing the miracle of Fatima (artist Manuela Bijanfar, Oberkirch).

The beautiful, small chapel with its wonderful view is located 500 meters from the popular Keschdeweg and is worth the small detour. Above the vineyards, it is a popular destination for hikers and believers. The chapel is open and lovingly furnished. From the outside, small pictures show the cloister of Jesus. A few benches invite you to linger and offer a great view over Oberkirch to the Rhine plain, and beyond on a clear day.
