Homburg Castle

With the recently completed renovation and the opening of the new orangery at the end of 2014, the cultural offerings at Homburg Castle were also expanded. In addition to the permanent home and nature exhibitions, action days and concerts are regularly held in the museum. The grounds, including the garden and mill, were repaired as they were in the old days. In the half-timbered house of the mill from the 19th century, bread and cakes are baked and sold again today.

A trip here shouldn't be missed when you're out and about in the Oberbergisches Land. Whether for hiking, in bad weather to the museum or for a special event: the possibilities are varied and interesting for children.

OPENING HOURS OF HOMBURG CASTLE:
April - October
Tuesday to Sunday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Thursday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
November - March
Tuesday to Sunday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Early medieval hilltop castle of the Counts of Sayn (later Sayn-Wittgenstein). Now a museum. Many hiking trails lead right past the castle.

Free parking space available. Can also be used as a hiking parking lot, e.g. for the 6 km long "sound path"
