With the recently completed renovation and the opening of the new Orangerie at the end of 2014, the cultural offer in Schloss Homburg has also been expanded. The castle complex, which dates back to the Middle Ages, was built as a hill fort of the Counts of Sayn. It is believed that there formerly stood the moated castle Holstein. For over 100 years, the medieval castle was built until 1740 to a baroque palace complex.
