Early medieval hill fort of the Counts of Sayn (later Sayn-Wittgenstein). Today a museum. Many hiking trails lead past the castle.

With the recently completed renovation and the opening of the new Orangerie at the end of 2014, the cultural offer in Schloss Homburg has also been expanded. Regular events and concerts are organized in the museum, in addition to the permanent home and nature exhibitions. The plant including the garden and mill were set in the same way as in the old ones. Bread and cakes are baked and sold again in the half-timbered house of the mill from the 19th century. You should not miss a trip here if you are traveling in the Oberbergische Land. Whether for hiking, in bad weather in the museum or a special event: the possibilities are versatile and interesting for children.MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THE OFFER:
    April - October
    Tuesday to Sunday 10am - 6pm, Thursday 10am - 8pm
    November - March
    Tuesday to Sunday 10am - 4pm

The castle complex, which dates back to the Middle Ages, was built as a hill fort of the Counts of Sayn. It is believed that there formerly stood the moated castle Holstein. For over 100 years, the medieval castle was built until 1740 to a baroque palace complex.

The castle offers in addition to the in-house attractions also always recommendable external exhibitions.
I do not think the reception options at the castle are so tingling. Here you can visit the Holsteins mill near the castle.

Free parking space available. Can also be used as a hiking parking lot, e.g. for the 6 km long "sound path"

A visit to Homburg Castle is worthwhile in every season. There is a Christmas market in the run-up to Christmas and a medieval market in the spring.

Homburg Castle is located in Nümbrecht in North Rhine-Westphalia in the Oberberg district. It majestically towers over the Homburger Ländchen. Adjacent are various beautiful hiking trails such as the 21 sound path.
    Have fun discovering.

The castle has been a highlight of mine since childhood. There is a parking lot for hikers right next to the castle. Many hiking trails start from this parking lot. I can also recommend the stagecoach that collects you at the weekend 😊
