The Schusterstein tunnel was built between 1900 and 1902 during the construction of the Chemnitz Küchwald - Wechselburg railway line.

From the confluence of the Würschnitz and Zwönitz, the Chemnitztal cycle path currently stretches to Göritzhain over a total length of around 30 kilometers. The "Chemnitztalradweg" special purpose association is responsible for more than 14 kilometers, some of which still have to be built.
