Top cycling routes to Köthensdorf Tunnel (Schusterstein Tunnel)

Tips

  • The Schusterstein Tunnel was built between 1900 and 1902 during the construction of the Chemnitz Küchwald-Wechselburg railway line. It passes under part of the Schusterstein massif, which is responsible for the beautiful meander (loop) of the Chemnitz River. Today, with its bridge-tunnel-bridge combination, it is one of the most beautiful sections of the Chemnitz Valley Cycle Path following renovations from 2015 to 2016.

  • A nice tunnel, however, is a little poorly lit.
