Bike Touring Highlight
The Schusterstein tunnel was built between 1900 and 1902 as part of the construction of the Chemnitz Küchwald - Wechselburg railway line. It passes under part of the Schusterstein massif, thanks to the beautiful meander (loop) of the Chemnitz.
Today, with its bridge - tunnel - bridge combination, it has been one of the most beautiful spots on the Chemnitz Valley Cycle Path after the renovation in 2015-2016.

Great family-friendly bike path from the Schweizerthal to Chemnitz and back. Our kids (5 and 4) have mastered it. Approx. 34 km there and back
