A really cool location! Even if everything is very overgrown there, I really liked it there!

The Vienna-Breitenlee marshalling yard was a large-scale railway project, the construction of which began in 1915/1916 and was intended to create one of the largest marshalling yards in Europe. However, due to the consequences of the First World War, economic difficulties, and changes in transport planning, work was finally halted in the early 1920s without the yard ever becoming fully operational. After the Second World War, the site lost its railway significance and remained largely unused, allowing a natural landscape to develop among the remaining track and foundation remnants over the decades.

Connected to the yard was the Schukowitz Bridge, a road bridge that crossed the planned railway area and linked local roads. It remained partially in use until the 1970s, after which it was largely demolished. Today, only ruinous remnants such as abutments and foundation fragments remain to remind us of this structure. Together, the remains of the train station and the bridge represent a failed infrastructure project that has transformed over time into a historical and scenic memorial space.
