House number 47–47a is the Palais des Beaux Arts. It was built in 1908/09 by the Drexler brothers, is considered one of their main works and is also one of the most important works of post-historicism, in which late-historic structural units are combined with secessionist decorative forms. Originally planned as a fashion center called Chic Parisien, it is inspired by Parisian architecture, but combines various stylistic elements in an idiosyncratic and original way. It is a mighty corner house with a towering tower and gabled bay windows. There are representative stone balconies on the mezzanine and on the third floor. The hinged corner tower is the most striking element, it is crowned by a three-tiered polygonal bell roof and flanked on the sides by female figures holding globes on the top floor. The vestibule is also representative, with marble cladding and stucco decoration; pillars with vases lead to a staircase in the actual staircase, which is decorated on the sides with bronze reliefs of groups of women. The Lithuanian embassy is housed in this building. It is a listed building.
