A beautiful, freely accessible walking park in the center of the city, within walking distance of the Market of Oudenaarde.
The park has been laid out in a romantic English landscape style, with many with winding paths, water features and bridges.

Like many cities, Oudenaarde was also surrounded by water, called forts. Part of these forts with surrounding agricultural lands was bought by Mr. Liedts, governor of Brabant and Hainaut. He ordered the construction of a large private garden, for which they were inspired by English garden art: typically landscaped, with many walking paths, opportunities for sports, water features with fountains, large lawns, gazebos and many standard trees.
The existing landscape was the basis, it only needed to be improved a little.
After the death of Baron Liedts, the park and the castle were bequeathed to the city council.
