The 1.4 km long "Path of Hope" on the former patrol path invites you to think. 14 monumental sculptures by the artist Dr. Ulrich Barnickel mark a piece of the former death strip between Hesse and Thuringia. The Point Alpha Foundation erected it in 2009 to commemorate the resistance against the communist regimes in Central and Eastern Europe.
