I spent five days here over Christmas and I have to say: This region is highly recommended! I was actually here to go skiing, but I was surprised by how much the area has to offer - and it's only two hours away from me. I hadn't even considered it before, as I usually always went to Austria.

A big advantage here: everything is only half as expensive. Of course, the region may not be as snow-sure as the Alps, but that wasn't a problem this year. It snowed for two days, bringing 40 cm of fresh snow. After that, we had perfect, sunny weather for four days.

I just had to take advantage of these conditions and didn't miss out on a little snow hike. It was wonderful!
