Leaving Monticello Castle behind and continuing the climb towards the Alta Val Luretta, you travel along the Strada delle Rose which is located right on the ridge line between Val Luretta and Val Trebbia. Looking on the Val Luretta side, you can observe the profile of Pionazzo, made unmistakable by the mighty tower, the only one left of the local castle, and by the soaring bell tower, erected using another of the towers of the disappeared castle as a base.
