The Evangelical Lutheran parish church of Scherneck in Upper Franconia, a part of Untersiemau in the Coburg district, dates back to the early 18th century in its current form. The choir tower church stands prominently on a rocky outcrop above the Itz River, shaping the townscape. The oval churchyard is surrounded by a wall and separated from the ground behind it by a ditch on the northwest side. The church seats approximately 300 worshipers.
