The bridge at Prekal is a weathered concrete span over the Kiri River, built at a time when mountain villages were connected to Shkodër via simple infrastructure; today it marks the point where the valley opens up and the asphalt gives way to a rough mountain route, with low railings, a cracked deck, and a view of the densely forested slopes that enclose the Kiri Gorge.
