South of the Samui Stadium, on road 4170, on a small hill is the reliquary with a footprint of Buddha.

There are over 3,000 of these so-called footprints spread across Asia. They each have a high spiritual significance and symbolize the transient presence of Buddha on earth.

The Buddha Footprint here on Samui can be reached via a long staircase with completely uneven steps. Once at the top, you stand in front of a small house, the entrance to which is guarded by a stone guard. In the only room in the building, in a corner is the huge footprint. A whole number of "donation boxes" are waiting for donations.

Overall, unfortunately, a somewhat run-down place that nobody seems to really care about. A shame. Still worth seeing somehow. 🤨
