After riding 35 km from the start, you begin a slow and steady climb to the little village of Jericho. Upon reaching the top, a splendid view of the mountains and valley is right ahead. The people in the town are also friendly and appreciate being told how stunning the view is.

Road cycling
While a gravel bike can handle the various road conditions along the course, it can be managed by a road bike. To that effect, the most challenging sections are at the beginning of the climb to Jericho, as well as the descent from St Simon back to Lucea.
