Lighthouse on the southeastern tip of Sicily
The Faro di Capo Murro di Porco lighthouse is an impressive lighthouse on the Maddalena Peninsula near Syracuse. It was built in 1859 and is still in operation today. The white, 20-meter-high tower with its distinctive lantern towers above the rocky coast and offers breathtaking views of the Ionian Sea.
The surrounding area is part of the Plemmirio Marine Protected Area and is a paradise for nature lovers. A walk along the cliffs reveals spectacular views and the opportunity to observe rare plants and animals.
