Facts & Highlights
+ Origin of the name: At the beginning of the 18th century, silver was actually searched for unsuccessfully in the valley. The silvery shimmering water eventually gave the stream its name.
+ Historic mills: The enormous water power attracted many businesses in the past. There were once several grinding, polishing, and fulling mills on the upper reaches. The well-known Silbermühle now serves as a forest hotel and excursion restaurant.
