The legend
A legend tells something about the foundation of the chapel in the pre-Reformation period:
A Junker of the village nobility had slapped his local pastor in a dispute. As a due apology, the clergy required him to build a church. It was consecrated to the saint of the monastery church of Corvey, St. Vitus.
The new Building
1861, the dilapidated church was rebuilt according to plans of the famous building master hare from Hanover in the brick building neo-Gothic style with its 152 seats. The cost of a total of 3,720 Reichstalern was raised by the population.

A squire of the village nobility slapped his local priest in the face during an argument. As a fitting apology, the clergy demanded that he build a church. It was dedicated to the saint of the monastery church in Corvey, St. Vitus.
The chapel was renovated outside in 2001 and inside in 2003.
A church garden was also created with EU funds.
