The Holy Trinity Mountain (631 m above sea level) is beautifully situated between the two towns of Muglhof and Matzlesrieth, directly on the Goldsteig. This hill in the city of Weiden i.d.OPf. is impressive because of its magnificent view over the Naab Valley and the Upper Palatinate Forest.

Leuchtenberg Castle rises to the south, and the pilgrimage church on the Fahrenberg peeks out to the east. In the west, the view can often stretch as far as Franconian Switzerland and the Nuremberg region. Below Leuchtenberg Castle is the wild and romantic Lerau Valley with the Wolfslohklamm gorge, which is well worth seeing.

Next to the Trinity Chapel, a single tree has been braving the rough Bohemian wind for decades - affectionately called the "Birnbeiml" by the locals.

However, this is not a pear tree, but a sycamore maple. The tree was planted in 1920 by Georg Hilburger from Muglhof - out of gratitude for his safe return from World War I and French captivity.
