The Leuchtenberg castle ruin is one of the most important and very well-preserved castle complexes in the Upper Palatinate. It was first mentioned in 1124, and yet former components such. B. the knight's hall is still clearly recognizable today.
In summer, the largest open-air theater in Eastern Bavaria takes place in the romantic courtyard.

Well-preserved castle ruins, a landmark of the Leuchtenberg market that is visible from afar and one of the most famous viewpoints in the region. From the castle complex on the summit of the 585 meter high Leuchtenberg you have a wonderful view of the surrounding area, the complex itself is in an impressive state of preservation. The headquarters of the Landgraves of Leuchtenberg can be visited from April 1st to October 31st from Wed. to Sun. from 10.30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
