This waterfall and its neighbor, Corderos, are the source of the water that is channeled through the thirteen tunnels along the route. At the springs, the water falls through large vertical walls typical of the north of the island and which announce the Caldera de Taburiente National Park.

The Marcos waterfall is surely the most beautiful (compared to that of Cordero), it is also the most abundant. The spectacle of water springing from the earth and flowing down the wall is worth the detour.
