With the Hofsee lake, its lowland meadows and alder groves along the Kittlitzer Bach,
and the adjacent Eichhorst, it forms an ideal habitat and refuge for wild boar, roe deer, and breeding cranes, for example.
The Kittlitzer Bach connects both natural areas west and east of Kittlitz. It flows through the lowland meadows and likely gave Kittlitz its name.
Through careful treatment of their environment, the citizens of Kittlitz have preserved this unique natural landscape.
