Tips
The habitat type “floodplain forests” occurs in the area of the outdoor laboratory, on the Krebsbach and along the Dönchebach. The floodplain forests are relatively sparse forest strips consisting of narrow-leaved willow species. The shrub layer is sparsely developed with hazel and hawthorn species. With a good supply of nutrients and water, numerous plants such as ground elder and stinging nettle can be found in the herb layer.However, considerable impairments can be observed due to the decrease in moisture.
