Tips
  • A gorge worth seeing near Kaprun. As already written by another user, the gorge is relatively short. However, you should not return directly to the parking lot at the end of the gorge, but also circle the turquoise shimmering Klammsee. This takes about an hour. On the way you pass a Kneipp facility, a playground and a hut where you can get drinks and snacks.

  • Since the gorge is only about 400 meters long, you should take your time going through it so that you can enjoy the roaring water torrents for a correspondingly long time. The descent through the gorge is not possible. Instead, take the parallel hiking trail.
But before that, a tour of the Klammsee is recommended.

A maintenance fee is payable for crossing the gorge.

  • At the time the passage on the Holzweg is blocked by the gorge.
There are missing one or the other protection areas, floor plates or a few
Stages. Probably after the last storm some things have broken.

  • Especially recommended is the guided torchlight hike through the Sigmund-Thun-Klamm.

  • Although it is a fairly short gorge, but very worth seeing. You walk in a deep narrow ravine over stairs through the gorge. Under one flows the roaring brook.

  • The gorge is absolutely worthwhile. You just shouldn't be walking around with flip-flops, it's a bit slippery and you have to go up a few steps. You can turn around directly at the top and go back, then you are comfortably through the gorge in 1 hour.

  • Very nice for people who live nearby. For us it was too far, but still a super nice tour.

  • Here you can see the Kapruner Ache as a rushing waterfall, sometimes cozy gurgling but always crystal clear. If you e.g. Direction Schneckenreithalm is on the way, you should definitely take the path through the gorge instead of the paved road. This also applies to the way back to the car park: after crossing the gorge on the bridge, you can turn left into the forest instead of following the signs to the car park. Much more beautiful and you have the opportunity once again to look down into the gorge.

  • Very impressive the power of the water and the play of light in the sunlight. In the dark there should also be a colored illumination.

  • In the gorge you can feel the elemental force of nature. The tremendous power of the water and the jagged rocks create an impressive picture. When you arrive at the upper end, you meet the beautiful Klammsee.

  • Half an hour to an hour before the end, however.
There are hardly any other people there on an afternoon so you can really enjoy the gorge. The way back is a different one anyway, so it can be taken at any time of the day.
