The Barbara Cross and its lodge are a great excursion destination, the journey here is worth it. The lovingly designed shelter (lodge) is particularly beautiful. You will also find a lot of information and a lodge book here. Since autumn 2024, this place has also been stamp point 21 of the Wilde Heimat hiking treasures.

From September 15, 2024, stamp station 21 of the hiking treasures of the Wild Homeland will be located at the signpost in front of the Barbarabaude. The Barbarabaude is the youngest of the three shelters looked after by the Delligsen local history association. In 2014, the association erected a wooden summit cross at this location. There was once significant mining in the Hils area. That is why the summit cross was dedicated to Saint Barbara, patron saint of miners and stonemasons. There are now even more elements to be found around the lovingly furnished lodge. In addition to various seating areas, there is a stone labyrinth and an insect hotel to discover, for example. Tip along the way: Take your time and discover the many details of the lodge, for example the wooden hut book. Tour tip: Ammensen hiking car park: “Selter-Hilswanderung” hiking trail (Del 1)
