Hiking

The sculpture entitled ‘Untwrakseling’ (unwrestling) is a memorial for the Second World War. It consists of 18 steel plates of 100 x 50 cm and 15 cm thick, which form nine right angles. These 90-degree angles appear to make a rotating movement around a central point. The nine right angles, which for the artist symbolize the unbreakable relationship between life and death, represent the fear and anguish of the occupation. The upward movement that is also depicted in the artwork refers to hope and better times.
