On this site, just before the First World War, the inn "In Het Damberd" was located. After it was destroyed during the First World War, it was decided to build a new town hall on this site.
In 1976, only extensions were built.
The building remained in use as a town hall until 2004.
Now the O.C.M.W./Social House is located here, with the PWA office next to it.
