The former forester's lodge of the von Baumbach family is the oldest surviving residential building in Hoheneiche and continues to shape the townscape. Its construction date is inscribed on the door lintel: May 4, 1633. The ornate timber framing with carved figures of men on the corner posts and richly decorated crossbeams is particularly striking. Unfortunately, the original inscriptions on the sills are no longer legible.

The building was designed by the local master carpenter Lorenz Heckmann. The gable-end extension dates from the 18th century. The house is still owned by descendants of the von Baumbach family.

The oldest house in Hoheneiche. The half-timbered structure is particularly striking, highlighted by the male figures on the corner posts. The so-called crossbeams feature rich carvings. The inscriptions on the upper floor thresholds are unfortunately no longer legible.
