The Monumental Cemetery of Cesena, located in the southwest of the city, was founded in the 19th century and opened on May 5, 1813. It was designed by the architects Giacomo Bertozzi, Benedetto Barbieri and Curzio Brunelli. The cemetery is known for its elliptical portico and the sacred quadrangle. It houses the tombs of several famous people, including Renato Serra and Monty Banks. The cemetery is an important historical and cultural heritage for the community of Cesena.
