Highest elevation in the Rhine-Hessian hill country; and that just with 245 m above sea level. Interesting is next to the view the ruins of the "mountain chapel" St. Peter (built around the year 1000 in Romanesque style). The church was abandoned during the Reformation and destroyed during the Thirty Years' War. As is so often the case, the citizens used the ruined building as a quarry in subsequent years.
