The Obereversand Lighthouse was built in 1886/87,

used from 1887 to 1923 for shipping in the Weser estuary,

then used as a rescue beacon:

The Obereversand Lighthouse with its 100m-long pier.

Previously, it was exposed to wind and waves for over 100 years –

in the middle of the Wadden Sea, about 40 kilometers from its current location.

Here, the Obereversand Lighthouse stands guard over the Dorumer Tief at a height of 37.40 meters.

Relocated from the Outer Weser to the harbor entrance of Dorum-Neufeld in 2003,

it is the landmark of Dorum-Neufeld.

The viewing platform offers a sweeping view of the Lower Saxony Wadden Sea National Park, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2009.

A guided tour inside the tower lets you experience the life and work of lighthouse keepers in the late 19th century.
