The first town hall was built in 1564. On April 18, 1674, the town hall also went up in flames in a major fire. Construction of the second town hall began in 1702 and was completed in 1703. Under Senator Landgraff, the town hall was renovated in 1788, the courtroom and the hall, which was also used for dancing, were decorated with stucco, new floorboards and stairs were laid, the roof was covered and the outer walls were plastered.
Due to several departments, a renovation had to be carried out in 1905, which meant that the old meat stalls of the butchers' guild fell victim to this. The round tower was replaced by a Gothic one. This change also meant that the market mirror was lowered. In addition to the service and cash rooms on the ground floor, a large hall for the city council meetings and a council meeting room were created on the first floor.
