Santhià, a municipality in the province of Vercelli, Piedmont, is a place with a rich history and an important traffic junction. Its name derives from Santae Agathae, the patron saint of the city. Here the railways and motorways between Milan, Turin and Aosta meet. In the centre of Santhià stands the church of Sant’Agata with its 12th-century campanile. In addition to historical sites, Santhià also has a museum of modern art, the Galleria Civica d’Arte Moderna.
