Great day with the NRW hiking group. My first time in the region around Bochum. This event is free and nice. Just the train connections are pretty problematic due to the replacement buses & the usual DB delays.

Rainy and gray day. Nonetheless it felt a pity to not hike a bit. The trail is nice and in the forest. At parts it is a bit muddy as the stream is next to the trail. I only met a guy with a dog and a couple, so I has the trail to myself. I will have to be back for the klettersteig - better to be safe

There are multiple entrances to Shoushan and multiple trails. Just besides Kaohsiung, the mountain is home to many Macaques mountains and you get views over Kaohsiung. Many elderlies train up here. Be careful to not carry food as I personally witness the monkey stealing the bag from one of the many volunteers
