The Maleo hydroelectric power plant is located on the right bank of the Adda River, and uses an artificial drop of about 4 meters originating from a weir built to protect the nearby railway bridge. It is of the flowing water type, with the intake near the bridge and the return just downstream of the weir, a flow rate of over 50 cubic meters per second, an installed power of 3 MW and the capacity to produce about 15 GWh per year capable of satisfying the average annual consumption of 5,000 families.
