    In this small park stands the 'Herinnergingsboom' (Remembrance Tree) on the occasion of the marriage of Princess Juliana and Prince Bernhard. The oak was planted on 7 January 1937. After the war, in 1945, it was provided with a simple fence. The six Maulbronner sandstones bear the initials of the members of the royal family: Juliana, Bernard, Beatrix, Margriet, Irene and Marijke (in 1963 her nickname became Christina).

    Fun fact and factoid: hidden between the roots at the bottom of the planting hole is a lodeb sealed tube buried. The certificate in this tube tells about the fact that this tree will bear witness to the close bond between the Netherlands and the House of Orange for the rest of our days.
