The exact construction date is not known, but there is a reference in the land book of Charles IV from 1375: There a pastor was mentioned who owned two Hufen land. The Dehio manual assumes that there was a previous building as early as the 13th century. A walled up portal on the southern wall of the nave provides further clues. The field stones still used there are carefully carved and experts have been able to date them to around 1400.
