In memory of the late Uwe Seeler, Sylvesterallee, directly at the Volksparkstadion, has been renamed after the HSV idol. Since August 1, 2024, the street has been called Uwe-Seeler-Allee. There was also a small ceremony to ceremoniously unveil the new street name. Even Mayor Peter Tschentscher and HSV Sports Director Stefan Kuntz were present. In keeping with the new street name, an oversized bronze foot of the former center forward has been standing on the avenue since 2005. Uwe Seeler died on July 21, 2022 at the age of 85.
