Formerly the Inner Market and Schranne (a market square), it is now the city's "parlor." Since 1984, the historic market square has been a pedestrian zone, a place to relax, and a central spot for Rosenheim residents to do a bit of shopping or enjoy a coffee outdoors.

Surrounded by magnificent town houses in the Inn-Salzach style, this central square offers a picturesque view. Arcades, vaults, bay windows, and the moated roofs, some of which are hidden behind towering projection walls, are typical of this architectural style.
