Old Fritz would be proud. His teahouse shines in golden splendor and is admired by the people. Great!

This impressive and very rare trumpet tree (Catalpa bignonioides) grows very close to the magnificent Chinese teahouse and behind a bench. It even shades the bench. Striking are its large, heart-shaped leaves and, in the fall, the thread-like, drooping fruits that resemble extra-long beans. These strange "beans" can grow up to 40 cm long and a maximum of 1 cm thick.
This robust plant is native to the southern United States. Its broad, spreading crown is typical. The trumpet tree can reach heights of up to 25 meters.
