North of Plochingen is the Bannwald Schachen, through which leads the researchers path. A spell forest is usually left to itself. Trees grow as they want, others die and rot. Over time, a kind of jungle, in which animals and plants feel comfortable. This bannwald exists since 2004. "Guilt" was Century York Lothar, who caused a lot of damage here a few years earlier. Today you can see nothing more from the storm damage. Rather, you can observe how nature slowly but surely recovers the formerly managed forest.

In the first third of the trail were 3 felled trees, so you had to dismount (at least as a beginner).
The rest was good mobile though very muddy (2 days after normal rain).
