The old town hall is located in the center of the district ofstockinglbach in the Baden-Württemberg town of Weinstadt. The building is protected as a cultural monument according to § 28 DSchG.
The building was constructed in 1591.[2] This is evidenced by a year on a coat of arms on the north side of the building.[3] The council chamber was enlarged in 1720/1721. In 1956, the stairs to the upper floor and the furnishings of the council chamber, the roof turret and the outdoor facilities were created. The roof was renewed in 2013/2014.
    The building is currently empty.

        Origin/meaning

The two knives (Hapen in the local dialect) appear for the first time as a symbol for the village in 1591, as part of a decoration on the town hall. They appear in combination with a bunch of grapes in another decoration, dating from 1751. They also appear on the oldest known seal of the town, dating from the 17th century. The knives are used in the cutting of the grapes. Viniculture was the main source of income for the village.

The present arms were officially granted in 1935 and combine the grapes and knives with the deer antler of Württemberg.
