Giant Papa: This figure was built in 1827 by Ambroise Bafcop and stands 6.25 metres high. He is dressed as a Roman soldier and carries a helmet, a shield, a glaive and a staff.
Giant Maman: This figure was built in 1860 by Alexis Bafcop, Ambroise's brother. She is dressed as a female fisherman and stands 5.50 metres high.
There is a legend that Giant Papa and Giant Maman were once transporting a motte of stones together to fill a ravine, but they quarreled and let the motte fall, forming the famous Mont Cassel.
