Jason's Bite is the name of the impressive rock formation that you can see from Gerakas Beach. And indeed, the "notch" looks as if someone had bitten a piece out of the rock.

Jason's Bite is located at the southernmost end of Gerakas Beach on the Vasilikos peninsula.
The formation is part of the impressive "White Sandstone Mountains". The cliffs are mostly made of light clay and sandstone.
The name comes from a distinctive gap in the rock that looks as if someone has bitten a piece out of the cliff.
The adjacent Gerakas beach is an important nesting site for Caretta-Caretta turtles. For protection reasons, access to the beach is prohibited between sunset and sunrise.
