The Eastern Cemetery is a historic cemetery on Congress Street in Portland, Maine. The cemetery was opened in 1668 and is the oldest historic site in the city. The cemetery has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1973.
In 2006, dedicated citizens founded Spirits Alive!, a nonprofit group dedicated to preserving, maintaining and improving the Eastern Cemetery.
