One of the most beautiful buildings in the city!
January 18, 2020
In 1992, the local history museum in Heiligenhafen was redesigned to be family-friendly in the restored Art Nouveau building of the former municipal savings and lending bank from 1902. The sponsor is the city of Heiligenhafen in cooperation with the Association for the Promotion of Local History and Culture e.V. (formerly the Carl-Bütje-Museum).
Children experience the museum with all their senses in museum educational activities, painting, making music, doing jigsaw puzzles, tying sailor's knots, exploring the duffel bags. The exhibition is divided into the areas of city history, port and seafaring, fishing and bathing life as well as fossils and prehistory and early history.
